introduction to disc golf

Disc Golf is like "real" golf, only instead of playing with clubs and golf balls, you play with frisbees, or, as we call them, discs.

Like real golf, you tee off from a certain point on each of a number of "holes". You count the number of shots it takes you to hit the "hole". If the disc goes out of bounds (into water, on a concrete path, or anywhere else you call out) then you take your next shot from where the disc was when it was last in, and also take a penalty of one shot.

The holes (what you need to aim for) tend to be trees or lamposts, but anything will do really.

There are lots of different sorts of disc, including drivers (which tend to be heavier and fly further), and putters (which tend to be made of softer plastic and used for shorter shots).

It's as simple (and as complicated) as that.
