A key part of the way the UPC operates is the open discussion and incorporation of ideas and feedback from the rest of the playing community. To maintain this we need an effective communication system that encourages participation. There are two parts to this – the first is having an effective way for us to reach you with announcements, while the other is having an effective way for you to reach us and contribute your ideas and feedback without being swamped by discussions that you are not interested in.
Rather than try and solve these two problems with a single email list as we have in the past, we will now use ultimate@nzfda.org.nz as an announcement only email list. It is moderated to ensure traffic remains relevant. So, if you are not subscribed to this list and are interested in national announcements and goings-on, then subscribe now! To subscribe to this list, simply send an email to ultimate-subscribe@nzfda.org.nz
The place for open, un-moderated discussions is trashtalk@nzfda.org.nz. The name of this list indicates the open nature of the list, rather than any intended subject matter! To subscribe to this list, simply send an email to trashtalk-subscribe@nzfda.org.nz
To provide a way for you to contribute ideas and feedback on specific matters with the UPC, we have created an email list for each UPC position. Matters relating to the UPC positions will be discussed on the respective discussion list and by anyone interested. Such discussions will be announced on the ultimate@nzfda.org.nz email list so you shouldn’t miss out, but you are free to subscribe and unsubscribe from these lists whenever you want. They are archived on the ‘web’ so if you do join a list later on, be sure to check the archives to make sure you haven’t missed out any anything important.
